DiggMama & Dollybird

Anyone who has been following us for a while will know we have moved premises. We moved in February and have done that much wrecking, we have delayed our opening until early June. Not sure we will ever be finished; I think interiors just evolve. Buts that’s a conversation for another day.

Being self-employed is certainly not easy. Joanne and I count ourselves lucky because we have each other, whether that’s to bounce ideas off each other [or cushions – it happens from time to time lol] or just to take the pressure off. Sometimes we can get disheartened, and sometimes we have bad days. That’s true whether you run your own business or not.

Making decisions can be difficult at the best of times, but if the last year has taught us anything, it’s that we should just go for it. Matthew McConaughey says in his book Greenlights, ‘Persist, Pivot or Concede,’ and he’s right; 2020 taught us we must adapt. We might have plans but they wont’ always GO to plan. And that’s ok, we will choose another direction, we will pivot.

A few weeks back, I was interviewed by the fabulous Caroline O’Neill for her DIGG Podcast, and we had such a ball. We spoke about growing a business in lockdown and all the things that has involved; money, fear, digital marketing, rebranding, and countless other topics. If you haven’t already, pop over and have a listen.

And remember, failures not an option!
